Yesterday was the day the family staying in our house for the year that we’re gone came to move in. They have two really cute little girls, a 3 month old and a 2 1/2 year old. The week was full of hard goodbyes and a couple of tears (Mom) because today we had to leave our friends in Massachusetts since we left just this morning.
Today, we crossed the Hudson River Valley and Lake Chautauqua. There were some breathtaking mountains which seemed like Mother Nature’s children. Here’s a picture of the bridge over the Hudson River.
This is my mom driving in her car behind my dad’s car.
One suggestion for sure, if you are planning a road trip, is to bring some good food for snacks and also follow Jesse Stanley on Spotify. My dad likes to listen to the WOD music. I think it reminds him of his CrossFit friends.
Luckily, we got to the hotel in time to see the end of the Holland vs. Costa Rica football match. Tomorrow I’ll meet up with my grandparents and after a few more days drive to New Mexico.
I have to keep reminding myself that we’re only away for one year and that I’ve already lived almost 10 of them just to keep from getting homesick. I also know that it’s going to be fun.
Thanks for the update Elliot. Glad to know you guys got off okay. Keep us posted on your progress. And you are right your year will go by very fast because you will be having so much fun. Talk soon E….

I already miss you. How wide is the Hudson River.

I miss you too! Honestly I don’t have a clue about the width of the Hudson River, but it’s definitely not as wide as the Mississippi.
