West of the Mississippi

Today, we hit the road from Lake Gage and we are now in St. Louis. Apparently, my mom lived here for a while when she was in the 3rd and 4th grades and she loved it since she could visit her friends’ houses without crossing the street.

These are a pictures of the Missouri state border and River.

Anyhow, the traveling has gone smoothly thus far. I am pretty bummed about the Netherlands’ loss in the World Cup. Because we couldn’t get ESPN on the TV when at the lake, I listened to both semi final games streaming the radio to my iPad. I actually liked it better than viewing on the TV!
At the hotel we’re staying at tonight there is a pool. I just went in and it seemed like 99% chlorine and 1% water. The deep end was 12 ft. straight down and I made several unsuccessful attempts to touch the bottom. Tomorrow we’re all heading to New Mexico but we’ll probably stop at another hotel.

That’s so interesting about enjoying the game more on the radio. I love to be read to–do you ever listen to audio books? Too bad about so much chlorine in the pool! For some reason, I love staying in hotels.

YOLO Sam, I think Argentina will win in penalty kicks. What do you think? Apparently, I was glued to the seat of the car (joke), which meant no boat down the Mississippi๐Ÿ˜”. Parts of the trip were definitely fun and exciting and other parts were boring and insignificant (spell check)! The fun parts were rocking out to music in the car and swimming in the pools at the hotels. The boring part was just sitting in the car with not much to do.

    Hi Elliot,

This is Noah. I read your last Blog and saw your pictures. They look nice!! What did you think of the Brazil game? Were you surprised? I know I was shocked since Brazil is pretty good. I thought it would be a closer game. My mom bought us a world map that is hanging in our kitchen. We are going to track your trip on our map with stickers. We found the Drake passage on our map.
I hope that you have nice trip to New Mexico. I think Argentina will win the world cup. What do you think? Well, I have to go. Talk to you soon.

Hi Noah. I was really surprised about the game. I think Brazil could’ve done a lot better. You can put a sticker on New Mexico on your map, and then the next stop is Italy. I think that tomorrow’s game is going to go into penalty kicks and Argentina is going to win.
